We all start somewhere! For years I struggled with an all or nothing approach to my nutrition and boring workouts. Once I hit 35% body fat I knew I had to make a change and get back in control of my health but I also knew myself well enough to know a drastic overhaul or restriction of my favorite foods wouldn’t last. By adopting my “fun with fitness” mantra and enjoying a balanced approach to my nutrition year-round (which still allotted for my beloved froyo each week), I was finally able to achieve (and maintain!) results I’d always wanted!

I began working with Jen in the spring of 2012 and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I received a meal plan and many healthy recipes from Jen in April and for the first time discovered what clean eating truly means. By June I was hooked and ready to take my fitness up a notch. She began sending me workouts with complete, easy to follow descriptions of each exercise and would also provide video links if needed. I was always the shy type in the gym and would often skip exercises or hide in the girls section in fear of being judged. I expressed my gym fears and anxieties to Jen one day in an email and she quickly responded and put my mind at ease. My fears are now in the past thanks to her email and words of encouragement and have absolutely no issues doing burpees or trying out a new exercise in the center of the once dreaded weight room. With this new mindset and Jen’s advice, my lifts began increasing and I quickly began seeing positive changes in my body. I found a new outlook on life as a result of Jen and her absolute faith in believing that I would and could succeed in my weight loss journey. Thanks to Jen and her constant motivation and advice, I was able to lose 50 pounds and decrease my body fat by 23%. She is one of the sweetest and most knowledgeable people I have ever worked with in the fitness industry and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity. As a bikini competitor and fitness model having a coach that is real and listens to your needs are extremely important. After trying other “cookie cutter” diets and workouts for my competitions, I went to Jen and explained to her my needs and concerns. Jen listened to my likes and dislikes and designed a workout plan and meal plan to fit my needs, goals, and my personality. Online training takes a lot of dedication and communication. Jen is very detailed with her plans, and if I ever had a question she would get back to me in ample time. I’m a visual learner, but Jen made my plan very easy to follow and understand. As time passed I could definitely see changes in my body. My body fat went down, I had more muscle, and I leaned out. I was very pleased with how my body looked as I stepped on stage for my two competitions last summer. My friends and family were amazed and very impressed with my progress. Stage presence is just as important as the preparation. I had never competed with WBFF before, and the posing isn’t the same as other federations. Jen helped me make a smooth transition by helping and guiding me with posing and good stage presence. I have never met a person as positive and motivating as Jen Jewell, and I am very thankful for all that she has done for me!
